Why MOOD Is Proud to Be a SECNA Member
Share
We recently had the opportunity to share our story with the Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT (SECNA), reflecting on how MOOD began, the impact of our charity partnerships and the importance of working together to create positive social change.
SECNA is the peak body representing and supporting social enterprises across NSW and the ACT, helping the sector grow through advocacy, collaboration and social procurement.
As proud members of SECNA, we're part of a growing community of organisations using business to address social and environmental challenges.
The power of a connected community
At MOOD, our purpose is to help fund preventative youth mental health programs through the sale of premium, award-winning tea.
Since launching in 2021, we've helped fund +40 programs through our charity partners, reaching more than +11,000 young Australians.
Being part of the broader social enterprise community allows us to connect with organisations working towards similar goals, share experiences and contribute to conversations about how businesses can create meaningful social impact.
An important part of this is social procurement, which encourages businesses and organisations to consider the social and environmental impact of their purchasing decisions. From workplace supplies to corporate gifting and event partnerships, everyday business decisions can help support social enterprises and the communities they serve.
Sharing our story with SECNA
In our recent interview with SECNA, our Head of Social Enterprise, Elizabeth Murray, discussed the origins of MOOD and why preventative approaches to youth mental health are so important.
Liz also shared her experience visiting our charity partner BackTrack in Armidale, where she saw firsthand the impact of community-based programs supporting young people facing adversity.
The conversation also explored our newest partnership with Yiliyapinya, a First Nations mental health charity in Queensland, where MOOD has funded a full year of its equine therapy program.

Looking ahead
We're grateful to be part of a community that recognises the role business can play in creating positive change.
As the social enterprise sector continues to grow, so do the opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing and supporting organisations working towards better outcomes for people and communities.
For MOOD, that means continuing to build partnerships, support preventative youth mental health programs and contribute to a broader movement that puts social impact at the heart of business.
